Job Summary
Long Shoal Marina and Restaurant is seeking hardworking and dependable Line Cooks to join our kitchen team and help deliver high-quality meals to our guests. This role involves preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes and standards, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and ensuring food is prepared efficiently during busy service periods. Line Cooks will also assist with food prep, inventory organization, and maintaining proper food safety and sanitation practices. Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Station Management:
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards.
Set up and stock assigned stations with all necessary ingredients and supplies before service.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout each shift.
Monitor food quality and freshness, properly labeling and storing ingredients.
Kitchen Sanitation & Safety:
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention.
Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularly.
Properly dispose of waste and maintain compliance with health department regulations.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management promptly.
Prep & Inventory Support:
Assist with daily food prep tasks such as chopping, portioning, marinating, and preparing sauces or sides.
Help receive and organize deliveries, ensuring proper storage of ingredients.
Monitor stock levels at stations and communicate shortages to the Kitchen Manager or Chef.
Service & Teamwork:
Work efficiently during busy service periods to ensure timely and accurate ticket completion.
Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure smooth operations.
Support fellow team members as needed to maintain a positive and productive kitchen environment.
Adhere to all company policies and uphold quality standards to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous kitchen or line cook experience preferred but not required.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
